Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Pigeon pea/chana dal a cup
  2. Chilli powder a tsp
  3. Green chillies about 3
  4. Salt to taste
  5. Curd about 3 to 4 tbsp
  6. Rice flour a tbsp or more
  7. Coriander and cumin powders a tsp each
  8. Baking soda a pinch

Instructions

  1. Soak the dal for 5 to 6 hours.
  2. Grind the dal coarsely with some small bits of dal with as little water as possible.
  3. Mix all the ingredients well.
  4. The batter should be thick.
  5. If needed can add more of rice flour.
  6. Make flat vadas and deep fry.
  7. Serve hot with your favourite chutney.
