ABOUT Instant Oats Idli Recipe RECIPE

A healthy steamed oats idli recipes which is very nutritious and gives you the energy which is needed to kick start your day. Oats idli can be an ideal healthy breakfast option. Oats are very healthy for you as they are super rich in fibre and idlis are steamed. Veggies can also be added to the batter to make them more tasty and nutritious. The oats idli batter can be easily prepared at home using rolled oats, rawa, water, salt and baking soda. Oats idli is also a good instant option and there is no need for fermentation and these can be prepared in a jiffy. A great way to make this dish more appetising is to add a tadka or tempering of mustard seeds and curry leaves.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 2 cups instant oats
  2. 1 cup sooji
  3. 1 cup yogurt
  4. 1 medium size carrot grated
  5. 2 finely chopped green chillies
  6. 3 tblspn finely chopped coriander leaves
  7. 1 sprig curry leaves
  8. 1 tsp eno fruit salt
  9. water as needed
  10. 1 tsp oil
  11. 1 tsp mustard seeds
  12. 1 tsp urad dal
  13. 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  14. 1/4 tsp Asafoetida

Instructions

  1. Take oats in a dry pan and roast it for few mins. Now cool it a little and powder it coarsely and set aside.
  2. Take oats flour in a bowl, add in sooji, curd, water, carrots, chillies, curry leaves, coriander leaves and water. Mix well to get a thick batter.
  3. Make seasoning by heating oil and crackling all ingredients given for seasoning. Let them sizzle for a min. Pour this over the batter and mix well.
  4. Now add more water if the batter is too thick. It should be of pouring consistency.
  5. Now add in eno fruit salt and mix well.
  6. Grease a idli plate with oil. Pour ladleful of batter in each mould and steam it for 8 to 10 mins.
  7. Once it is steamed, remove and let cool for 2 mins.
  8. Now dip a spoon in water and slide under the idlies.
  9. Serve this with any chutney of your choice.

I tried it today. N it's turnedv really good. Thanks for the recipe. However I mixed little of curds.
