Rava idli is very light tasty and healthy recipe . It can be served in breakfast, lunch, or in evening with sambhar or coconut chutney .Now let's see the quick idli recipe

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Semolina / suji / Rava 1 cup
  2. Curd 1 cup
  3. Salt to taste
  4. Fruit salt (Eno) 1/2 packet
  5. FOR TEMPERING
  6. Oil
  7. Mustard seeds 1 tsp
  8. Asafoetida 1/4 tsp
  9. Chopped cashews 1 tsp
  10. Cashews- 4-5
  11. Curry leaves

Instructions

  1. Add semolina , salt and little water ina bowl to make a slightly thin batter.Now keep it aside for 20 minutes
  2. After 20 minutes, semolina will soaked water and batter will become slightly thick .
  3. Now for tempering, add oil in a tadka pan ,let it heat. When oil is medium hot then add mustard seeds and let it crackle. When mustard seeds are crackled then add asafoetida, curry leaves and add half sliced cashews in it . Now switch off the flame
  4. Add this tempering to the semolina mixture and mix it well.
  5. Now add water in a steamer and let the water boil. Meanwhile, grease idli moulds with oil.
  6. When water starts boiling in the steamer then add eno/ fruit salt un semolina mixture and mix it well. Batter will become double in quantity . .Now immediately pour it in the idli moulds , add half pieces of fried cashews on every idli as shown in the image and put it in the steamer. Do this process very quickly .
  7. Now let it steam for 10 minutes. Now open the lid of the steamer Cgeck the idli by inserting toothpick in it. If it comes out clean that means idlis are cooked
  8. Now take out the idli moulds and let it cool .After cooling down, demould the idlis with knife or spoon and serve it with sambhar and coconut chutney :blush:
