Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Moong dal 1/2 cup
  2. Carrot 100 gms
  3. Potato 100 gms
  4. Drumsticks 250 gms
  5. Salt to taste
  6. Water 1 ltr
  7. Jaggery 1 lemon sized
  8. Red chilli powder 2 tsp
  9. Cooking oil 1 tsp
  10. Mustard seeds 1 tsp
  11. Jeera 1 tsp
  12. Asafoetida a pinch
  13. Red chilli 1
  14. Tamarind syrup 3 tsp
  15. Curry leaves few

Instructions

  1. WASH CLEANLY MOONG DAL
  2. ADD SALT AND SUFFICIENT WATER
  3. WASHED AND CHOPPED CARROTS, DRUMSTICKS
  4. ADD POTATOES, COVER AND COOK
  5. BRING 2 WHISTLES, TURN OFF THE FLAME, ALLOW IT TO COOL
  6. OPEN THE LID AND TRANSFER INTO A VESSEL
  7. ADD CHILLI POWDER / SAMBAR POWDER, ALLOW IT TO BOIL FINELY
  8. TAMARIND SYRUP 3 TSP
  9. MIX WELL
  10. ADD LEMON SIZED JAGGERY
  11. STARTS BOILING
  12. HEAT 1 TSP OF COOKING OIL, JEERA, ASAFOETIDA AND MUSTARD SEEDS
  13. ADD RED CHILLI AND CURRY LEAVES, TURN OFF THE FLAME
  14. ADD IN SEASONING, TURN OFF THE FLAME AND SERVE WITH HOT RICE
