ABOUT Topse Fish batter Fry RECIPE

Topse is a favourite fish of the bengalies and it is relished when fried and taken with dal and rice.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Topse fish - 10
  2. Bengal gram powder 100 gms.
  3. Rice powder 50 gms.
  4. Baking soda a pinch of it.
  5. Nigella seeds - 1 tsp
  6. White oil for frying.
  7. Hing [asafoetida] - 1 pinch
  8. Dry red chillies - 2
  9. Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp

Instructions

  1. Marinate the fish with salt and haldi. Keep it for 10 mins.
  2. Lil vinegar can be added to the marination.
  3. In a bowl take besan and put nigella seeds, red chilli flakes & salt
  4. Add a pinch of baking soda and also the rice powder to it. Pour water and make a thick batter.
  5. Dip the fishes in the batter and deep fry them.
  6. Once it's done serve it with white rice and some plain masoor dal.
