ABOUT Amristari fish fry RECIPE

Delicious Punjabi fish fry famous in Amristar.Fish coated with spices and besan flour,deep fried,the outside crisp and inside soft.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. King fish pieces -500 -600 gm
  2. First marination:-
  3. Kashmiri red chilli powder -3 tsp
  4. Ginger, garlic paste -1 tbsp
  5. Lime juice- 1 tbsp
  6. Salt.
  7. Batter:-
  8. Besan flour - 4 tbsp
  9. Chilli powder -1 tsp
  10. Ajwain - 1 tsp
  11. Yogurt 2 Tbsp
  12. egg -1
  13. Salt to taste.
  14. Oil - To deep fry.

Instructions

  1. Wash fish pieces thoroughly and finally add turmeric powder, Again wash and drain it. In a bowl add fish pieces marinate with little salt,chilli powder,ginger garlic paste and lime juice.
  2. Mix besan flour,yogurt,ajwain,egg, 1 tsp chilli powder and salt to taste,adding pinch red food colour is optional.(like bajji batter) Keep aside.
  3. Dip the fish pieces in the batter.
  4. Heat oil to deep fry.
  5. Put the fish pieces in hot oil and deep fry till done.Drain it.
  6. Serve hot with onion slices and lemon wedges. Sprinkle chat masala.

I don't like eggs, so can I make it without using egg?
