ABOUT Green moong dal makhni ( without onion and garlic) RECIPE

It is a very simple and flavourful receipe. Easy digestable and also rich in protein. Here i gives you its satvik avtaar. Even without onion and garlic it is very yummy. Serve it with roti or parantha or even with rice alongwith cucumber and tomato salad.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Green moong dal sabut 1 cup
  2. Salt to taste
  3. Turmeric powder 1 teaspoon
  4. Green caradamom 2
  5. Cloves 3
  6. Water 3 cup
  7. For tempering:
  8. Butter 2 tablespoon
  9. Cumin seeds 1 teaspoon
  10. Tomato puree ( 2 fresh tomatoes and 2 green chillies)
  11. Ginger 2 tablespoon chopped
  12. Red chili powder 2 teaspoon
  13. For final garnishing:
  14. Cream 2 tablespoon
  15. Garam masala 1 tablespoon
  16. Coriander leaves chopped
  17. Mint leaves chopped

Instructions

  1. Soak dal for 2 hours in enough water.
  2. After 2 hours add it to a pressure cooker add salt, turmeric powder, cloves and green cardamom. Close the lid and cook till 5 whistles.
  3. Afer 5 whistles let it cool and realease the pressure. And mash it with the help of laddle. Put it on flame and cream to it and boil on low flame for 10 mintues. Stir constantly. Adjust water and salt according to your taste.
  4. Now add butter to another pan and add cumin seeds and ginger. Saute it for 2 minutes and add tomato puree. And fry till it starts leaving pan.
  5. Add red chili powder and saute it.
  6. When it becomes red in colour add this tempering to dal.
  7. Mix well and add garam masala and cook for 10 mintues on low flame. Stir constantly.
  8. Add chopped coriander and mint leaves. Your green moong dal makhni is ready to serve.
