Rava kichadi is a richer version of Rava upma served in all Tamil marriages as a breakfast item along with idli. More ghee , turneruc,tomatoes are added to make it cilourful. Infact many people call this breakfast as Kalyana kichadi..

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Semolina/ Rawa 2 cups
  2. Ghee and oil 3 tb spoons each
  3. Sliced onions 2
  4. Green peas 4 tb spoons
  5. Tomatoes chopped 2
  6. Slitted green chillies 4
  7. Cashews few
  8. Turmeric powder 1/2 teaspoon
  9. Curry leaves and coriander leaves
  10. Salt to taste
  11. Mustard,urad dal, chana dal fir seasoning

Instructions

  1. Heat a pan with oil and ghee
  2. Do seasoning with given items.
  3. Once they splutter add curry leaves ,onions and green chillies.
  4. Add peas and fry for a while.then add tomatoes and fry for 5 minutes in medium flame
  5. Then add semolina, turmeric powder and required salt and keep frying for 5 minutes atleast
  6. Do it patiently.
  7. Now pour 4 cups of water ,mix well and close the pan with a lid.
  8. Keep the flame to low and cook for 20 minutes.
  9. Switch off the stove.
  10. Garnish with roasted cashews, coriander leaves and serve hot with coconut chutney
