ABOUT Garlicky Tikkis RECIPE

Diwali is the time for indulgence. Sometimes it is okay to eat fried food to enjoy festivities. This recipe is certainly a refreshing change from regular tikkis.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Potatoes boiled & peeled 6
  2. Chopped onion 1
  3. Garlic flakes 6-7 pounded
  4. Cashews 7-8 chop finely
  5. Lalmirch powder 1 tsp
  6. Paneer grated 1/4 cup
  7. Salt to taste cornflour 2-3 spoons for binding
  8. Coriander leaves fresh chopped 1/4 cup
  9. Oil to fry

Instructions

  1. Wash and boil potatoes. Cool peel and mash them. Add salt to taste. Add cornflour. Now add all spices into mashed paneer along with garlic, onion and cashews with fresh chopped coriander leaves.
  2. Divide into 10-12 equal portions. Now take a ball size potatoes mix. Make a well in the centre, fill in paneer-cashew mix. Again fold and seal it properly. Deep fry or shallow fry in hot oil till golden brown.
  3. Transfer it on tissue paper. Serve it with Mint chutney or tomato sauce.
