Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. For the tikkis - 2 cups besan
  2. Salt to taste
  3. 4-5 tablespoon warm oil
  4. Water to knead a very tight dough
  5. 1 teaspoon khus-khus
  6. For the gravy - 3 medium sized onions, chopped finely
  7. 2 big tomatoes, chopped finely
  8. Salt to taste
  9. ½ teaspoon red Chilli Powder
  10. 2 tablespoon oil
  11. ½ teaspoon haldi
  12. ½ teaspoon garam masala powder
  13. Green coriander leaves, to garnish

Instructions

  1. Tikki - Take the besan and add in oil and all ingredients.
  2. Using as little water as possible, knead a tight dough.
  3. Make small balls and press to make tikkis.
  4. Deep fry to golden color on slow-medium flame.
  5. Keep aside.
  6. Gravy Steps - In a pressure cooker, heat the oil and fry the onion to brown.
  7. Add the tomatoes and fry till well cooked.
  8. Add all the powder masalas.
  9. Fry for 1 minute.
  10. Add 4-5 cups water and cook for 5 minutes.
  11. Blend the gravy.
  12. Add the tikkis and cook for 1 whistle.
  13. Garnish with green dhania leaves.
  14. Serve with saffron rice and Roti
