Keep all ingredients ready before you start making your dish Khichda
First step soak the dal mix overnight
Soak wheat porridge separately overnight
Soak rice half hour or so
Start with washing both dal, rice and porridge separately, also boiling separately
Add a bit of salt in porridge boil 3-4 whistles pressure cook
Add salt,turmeric and soaked rice to the dals and boil 4-5whistles pressure cook
Chop 2 onions fine and grate the other keep ready.
Saute onions chopped till pinkish brown &add the grated onion to these saute well
Add ginger garlic paste, the seasoning and the mutton and roast well for 5 minutes
Remove the dals &rice from cooker and mash with spatula
Remove porridge from cooker and mash a little to see if done
Mix the two, the dal rice mix and the porridge well
Add this mix to the cooking mutton as it's almost done
Sprinkle some garam masala mix well, cook for ten minutes on slow flame stirring well.
Switch of the flame transfer to serving bowl
Now heat some ghee and freshen the golden fried onions.
Add as garnish on the ready khichdi, some fresh mint leaves and golden fried onions
Garnish and serve
Keep sliced lemon in a bowl and serve hot

1 tbsp Cumin coriander powder
1 tbsp garam masala powder
3-4 cloves
A bunch of fresh mint leaves
2 -3 fresh lemon
1 cup golden fried onions
