It's an authentic kashmiri recipe, in which marinated chicken pieces are deep fried & again cooked in a spicy gravy.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Chicken...1kg
  2. Onion...3
  3. Lemon juice...2tspn
  4. Tomato...1
  5. Garlic...10
  6. Ginger paste...2tspn
  7. Curd...1/2cup
  8. Kashmiri dry red chilli...5 to 7
  9. Kashmiri red chilli powder...1tspn
  10. Turmeric powder...3tspn
  11. Fennel seeds powder...2tspn
  12. Green capsicum...1
  13. Cumin seeds...1tspn
  14. Salt to taste
  15. Mustard oil...1cup
  16. White vinegar...1teasp
  17. coriander leaves.

Instructions

  1. At first marinate the chicken with 1tspn each turmeric powder,roasted cumin powder, 1tspn fennel seeds powder ,2tspn kashmiri red chilli powder,1/2teaspn pepper powder, 1tspn lemon juice,salt , 1tspn ginger garlic paste & curd.Marinate it for at least one hour.
  2. Now in a bowl mix onion slices with salt, kashmiri red chilli, fennel seeds powder, roasted cumin powder, turmeric powder, pepper powder, vinegar & chopped green chilli.
  3. Make a paste of soaked dry kashmiri red chilli & garlic cloves.
  4. Heat oil in a kadhai now & fry the chicken pieces.
  5. In another kadhai heat 2tspn oil, add cumin seeds & let it crackle. Add 1tspn ginger garlic paste & saute it for a while.
  6. After few minutes add chopped capsicum, tomato & onion mixture.Cook it till soft.
  7. When the mixture became soft add it to the fried chicken.Stir it constantly.Flame should be low now.
  8. Add turmeric powder, kashmiri red chilli_garlic paste & salt .
  9. Cook it few more minutes & boil it well.
  10. Garnish with coriander leaves & serve hot with any type of Indian bread.
