ABOUT Jalapeños Fritters (Mirch Pakoda) RECIPE

The famous street food of Rajasthan. The jalapeño chillies are stuffed with potato mixture and fried with a coating with gram flour batter. In Rajasthan, especially jaipur you will find mirch pakoda accompanied with kadhi.

Ingredients Serving: 4

8 Thick green chillies
For the batter:
2 tbsp Gramflour
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp chilli powder
1 tsp cumin seeds
1 tsp finely chopped corriander
Oil for frying
For potatoes stuffing:
2 large boiled potatoes
1 tsp Salt
1/2 tsp chilli powder
1/2 tsp dry mango powder
1/2 tsp chopped corriander
Ginger juliennes to garnish

Instructions

For stuffing :
Peel and mash the boiled potatoes and add all seasonings for stuffing.
Mix together and form a fine paste. Keep aside.
For the Batter :
In a bowl mix together all ingredients of batter along with water and make a semi thick paste.
To assemble :
Take the chillies and slit them in between to deseed them.
Fill in the stuffing and dip in the batter.
Fry on medium hot flame till golden brown.
Place on a tissue paper to remove the excess oil and serve hot with sauce of your choice.
Garnish with ginger juliennes and enjoy.
