ABOUT Coconut Gooseberries Apple laddoos RECIPE

These laddoos are healthy, full of nutrition and totally different in taste. Coconut is a good source of Vitamins, fibres, minerals and antioxidants, while Gooseberries are always considered to be elixir of good health and are full of vitamin C. These laddoos are probably the most healthiest and tantalizing Indian sweet that are best when served as a dessert after any meal or whenever you crave for something sweet.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 250 grams gooseberries
  2. 1 big ripe Apple
  3. 1 tablespoon coconut powder
  4. 250 grams jaggery scraped
  5. 1 tablespoon Almond powder
  6. 1/2 Teaspoon Green Cardamom Powder
  7. 1/4 Teaspoon Cinnamon Powder
  8. one teaspoon ghee(optional)
  9. 10 Saffron strands
  10. 1 tablespoon coconut powder for covering the laddoos

Instructions

  1. Wash and boil the amlas with 3/4th of glass of water in a pressure cooker only for one whistle.
  2. When cooled, remove the seeds and separate the segments.
  3. Wash, peel and chop the apple
  4. Grind the amla and apple segments in a mixer to a fine paste.
  5. Now heat a non-stick pan and add gooseberry-apple paste along with jaggery.
  6. Mix it really well, keep stirring constantly and cook until jaggery dissolves completely and the mixture becomes thick.
  7. Add ghee (optional) into it and cook it for 2 more minutes, until the mixture becomes sticky and glazed.
  8. Turn off the flame and let it cool down slightly.
  9. Add coconut powder, almond powder, green cardamom powder, saffron strands and cinnamon powder and mix well.
  10. Grease your palms and take a small portion of the mixture and roll it out into a laddoo.
  11. Roll the prepared laddoo over the coconut powder
  12. Similarly, prepare the rest of the laddoos until the mixture is utilized completely.
  13. Delicious and healthy, power packed ladoos are ready.
  14. Serve them whenever you crave for something sweet, or after meals.
