ABOUT Cabbage Spinach Kheer RECIPE

A new variation to the regular kheer is by adding veggies to increase the nutritional content of the yummy dessert

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 100 gms finely chopped cabbage
  2. 3-4 cardamom pods crushed
  3. 20 gms of purée spinach
  4. 150 gms sugar
  5. 200 ml plain milk
  6. 4-5 almonds sliced fine
  7. 1 tbspn ghee

Instructions

  1. PAR BOIL 100 GMS FINELY CHOPPED CABBAGE. PUREE 20 GMS OF SPINACH. KEEP ASIDE.
  2. MELT 1 TBSP GHEE. SAUTE CABBAGE FOR 5-10 MINUTES ON LOW HEAT.
  3. ADD 200 ML MILK. BRING TO A BOIL.
  4. ADD 100 GMS SUGAR & 4-5 CRUSHED GREEN CARDAMOMS.
  5. STIR OCCASIONALLY. LET MILK REDUCE TO HALF.
  6. ADD SPINACH PUREE TO THICKENED MILK. MIX. BOIL FOR A FEW MINUTES. LET COOL.
  7. SERVE WARM OR CHILLED. GARNISH WITH SLICED ALMONDS & CHOPPED PISTACHIOS.
