Ingredients Serving: 4
Toor daal 3/4 cup
Rice 1 1/4 cup
2-3 carrot
Dried green peas 1/4 cup (soaked overnight)
1 medium size kohlrabi/navilkosu (cut into small cubes)
Beans 1 cup
Onion 1 small
Grated Coconut 1/4 cup
Tamarind small ball size soaked in 1 cup water
salt as per taste
oil 2 tbsp
Ghee 3 tbsp
Hing 1 to 2 pinch
Curry leaves 8
Tomato 1
Jaggry 1/2 tsp
Mustard seeds 1/4 tsp
bisibele bath powder ingredients:
Oil 1 tsp
Chana dal 2 tsp
Urad dal 2 tsp
Dhaniya seeds 4 tsp
Clove 2
Cinnamon 4 (1/2 inch size each)
Kashmir red chili 5
Normal red chilli 2 (for spice)
Fenugreek seeds 1/8 tsp (7 seeds)
Mustered seeds 1/4 tsp
Cumin seeds 1/4 tsp
Poppy seeds 1 tsp
Instructions
Boil all vegetables, toor daal, onion with salt.
Cook the rice and keep it aside.
Fry all the bisibele bath powder ingredients on a low flame.
Grind everything to a fine powder (this is bisibele bath powder), then add coconut, water and again grind to a smooth paste.
Transfer this paste to a big pan and add water, salt, jaggery. Let it boil for a few minutes. Now add cooked dal and the vegetables. Add a tablespoon of oil. Mix well and let it boil for a few more minutes. Keep stirring in between.
Add rice, tamarind juice as per your taste and mix. Let it be on the stove for 5 more minutes on a low heat and then turn off the heat. Remember to stir in between.
Heat 3 tbsp ghee and 1 tbsp oil in a ladle. Add hing, mustard seeds, curry leaves, tomato fry these til tomatoes soften. Put this on the bisi bele bath and mix well.
Serve the Bisibele Bath with Boondi.
