ABOUT Soya Beans Vadai (Deep Fried Fritters) RECIPE

Vadai is an easy to cook and delicious in taste deep fried fritter. Generally this dish is made only with channa dal, but I have experimented by adding the ingredient soya beans.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 cup soya beans
  2. 1/2 cup channa dal
  3. 3 red chillies
  4. 1 teaspoon fennel seeds
  5. 4 cloves of garlic
  6. 1/2 cup cilantro
  7. 1 cup onion (chopped)
  8. Salt to taste
  9. Oil to deep fry

Instructions

  1. Start by soaking the soya beans and channa dal for 4 hours before you start cooking.
  2. After this time period, mix the ingredients, chillies, fennel, garlic and salt in a grinder to form a coarse paste. Next add in the onion and cilantro and mix this as well.
  3. Take a pan and heat enough oil, next make small patties from the mixture and drop them slowly in the pan one by one.
  4. Let the other side also cook by flipping it over.
  5. Once both the sides are golden brown, remove them from the pan and drain the excess oil on paper towels.
  6. Serve them piping hot to enjoy.
