ABOUT Salem Chicken Chops masala RECIPE

This chicken chop masala prepared in leg quarters and grinded coconut fried gram paste.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. To Marinade:
  2. Chicken leg quarters- 4 Pieces
  3. Redchilli Powder- 2 Tsp
  4. Turmeric Powder-1/2 Tsp
  5. Ginger Garlic Paste-2 Tsp
  6. Curry Masala Powder- 2 Tsp
  7. Salt- 2 Tsp
  8. Castor Oil - 2 Tsp
  9. To Grind:
  10. Coconut- Grated 2 cup
  11. Fried Gram - 2 Tbsp
  12. To Cook:
  13. Shallots - 150 grams
  14. Tomato- 1 Chopped
  15. Ginger Garlic Paste-2 Tsp
  16. Seasame Oil- 100 ml
  17. Coriander Powder - 2 Tsp
  18. Chili Powder-1.5 Tsp
  19. Salt - 2 Tsp
  20. Curry Leaves- Few

Instructions

  1. Wash chicken well , slit in few places of chicken so that masala incorporate well inside the chicken.
  2. Absorb the extra moisture in chicken add Redchilli powder,turmeric powder ,salt, ginger garlic paste , castor oil and curry masala powder mix well .(Ingredients under ‘to marinade ‘)
  3. Let it Marinade for 30 minutes.Keep aside.
  4. Grind the grated coconut and fried gram in mixer or blender by adding little water into fine paste and keep it aside.
  5. Heat a wide heavy bottomed pan Add sesame oil add chopped onions sauté well
  6. Add Tomato chopped sauté well add ginger garlic paste sauté well.
  7. Add marinated chicken mix well add chillipowder,coriander powder & salt mix well.
  8. Add water 1.5 cups let chicken cook atleast 75% then add grinded coconut paste.
  9. Let gravy boil well then keep it in medium flame so that oil will start to float at top & sides.
  10. When Chicken cook well take 75-80 % of Gravy as you required in separate bowl keep it aside,then keep the flame in medium low.
  11. Let it simmer for 15 minutes when gravy simmer and oil started to float on top Switch off the flame.
  12. Chicken Chops Ready. Gravy separated will be good accompaniment for rice , idly ,dosa & Paratha.
