Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Mutton / Lamb – 1/2 kg chopped into small pieces
  2. Turmeric Powder / Manjal Podi – 1 tsp
  3. Chilli Powder – 1 tsp
  4. Salt to taste
  5. Curry leaves – 2 sprig
  6. Tomato – 1 medium size chopped
  7. Coconut Oil – 1 tblspn
  8. Coriander Leaves for garnishing
  9. For Grinding:
  10. Shallots / Sambar Onion – 4 peeled and sliced
  11. Whole Pepper – 1 tsp
  12. Cumin Seeds / Jeerakam – 1 tsp
  13. Garlic 6 cloves

Instructions

  1. Take mutton, salt, turmeric powder in a pressure cooker. Add in 2 cups of water and pressure cook it for 10 whistle, simmer for 10 mins, turn off the heat and let the steam go all by itself.
  2. Open the cooker, Now drain the mutton and stock.
  3. Take the grinding ingredients in a blender and crush them.
  4. Heat oil in a kadai. Add the ground masala and mix well. Add in tomatoes, curry leaves and saute once.
  5. Add in turmeric, chilli powder and salt. Mix well.
  6. Now pour in the stock and bring it to a boil.
  7. Once it reaches boil, turn off the heat and add coriander leaves.
  8. Serve with rice.
