ABOUT Tomato Rasam RECIPE

It is the easiest Rasam recipe that aids our digestion process. It is no Tamarind and no dal version of Rasam. I usually prepare this when i have less cooking time. You can have it as soup. It cleanses your body.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Tomatoes 4
  2. Rasam powder 2 tbsp
  3. Salt to taste
  4. Pepper powder 1 tsp
  5. Cumin powder 1/2 tsp
  6. Turmeric Powder 1/2 tsp
  7. Hing 1 pinch
  8. Coriander leaves 3 tbsp chopped
  9. For Seasoning: 1 tbsp Ghee/ Oil
  10. Jeera 1/2 tsp
  11. curry leaves 5-6

Instructions

  1. Blend 4 tomatoes to form smooth tomato juice
  2. Strain the juice to completely remove seeds
  3. Now add Salt, Rasam powder, Pepper powder, Cumin powder, Turmeric and Hing. Mix well
  4. Add Coriander leaves. Boil the mixture for 10 minutes
  5. The color of rasam would change from red to brown and be aromatic. Turn off the flame
  6. Prepare Seasoning with Ghee/oil, Jeera and Curry leaves. Pour the seasoning over Rasam and mix well
  7. Tomato rasam ready to be served
