Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Cooked toor dal 1 cup (this should be extremely watery and should have no trace of dal)
  2. Watermelon juice 3 cups
  3. Ghee 2 tbsp
  4. Salt to taste (preferably rock salt)
  5. Tamarind juice 1 cup (from a tiny ball of tamarind)
  6. 1/4 tsp red chilly powder
  7. turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
  8. 1/2 tsp Hing/ asafoetida
  9. Jaggery 1/2 tsp
  10. Rasam powder(1) 1 spoon
  11. Rasam powder (2) for garnish (recipe below)
  12. Ingredients to make rasam powder 2: (this powder to be made preferably before making the rasam for freshness and added flavour)
  13. Ghee 1tsp
  14. Hing / asafoetida 1/4 tsp
  15. Toor Dal 1.5 tbsp
  16. Channa Dhal 1.5 tbsp
  17. Jeera 1 tsp
  18. Pepper 1.5 tbsp
  19. Coriander seeds 3 tbsp
  20. Whole red chilly 10 nos (can increase if you want more spice)
  21. Curry leaves few
  22. Coriander leaves finely chopped
