Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Mutton/ Goat Meat - 500 gms
  2. Onion - 1 Large ( 1/2 chopped finely + 1/2 Onion paste)
  3. Yogurt - 2 tbsp
  4. Ginger paste- 1 tbsp
  5. Garlic paste - 1 tbsp
  6. Bay leaf - 1
  7. Cinnamon stick - 1 inch
  8. Turmeric Powder - 1/2 tsp + 1/2 tsp
  9. Chilli powder - 1 tsp
  10. Cumin Powder - 1 tsp
  11. Coriander Powder - 1 tsp
  12. Nutmeg powder - 1/2 tsp
  13. Garam Masala powder - 1/2 tsp
  14. Cardamom green crushed - 2
  15. Mustard Oil ( If you are not comfortable using mustard oil, you may use vegetable oil)- 4 tbsp
  16. Coriander Fresh - for garnishing

Instructions

  1. Add yogurt, turmeric and salt to the meat. Mix it thoroughly and set it aside for a good 3- 4 hours.
  2. In a pressure pan cooker, add oil, once it is warm enough add the bay leaf, cinnamon stick and cardamom.
  3. Now add the chopped onions to it and fry until it becomes light brown in color. You can now add ginger and garlic paste to it and saute it until the oil separates from the masala/paste completely.
  4. Add all the dry powder and mix it really well. We can add the marinated meat to it and saute it really well at regular intervals for 3-5 minutes at a low to medium heat.
  5. Now add 2 cups of water to it ( you may reduce or increase the quantity of water depending on the consistency of gravy you want). Cover the cooker, cook it on a low to medium heat and allow it to cook till 2 whistles blow for the meat to get cooked completely.
  6. Allow atleast 30 minutes before you can remove the mutton curry from the cooker into a serving bowl and garnish the same with fresh coriander.
  7. Now the Mutton curry is ready to be devoured!
