Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Mutton - 500gms(with bone)
  2. Onion- 2 large size(finely chopped)
  3. Ginger garlic paste- 3tblspn
  4. Turmeric-1/2tspn
  5. Meat masala powder- 3tspn
  6. Coriander powder- 1tspn
  7. Cumin powder- 1/2tspn
  8. Chill powder- 2-3tspn
  9. Tomato- 1 small size(chopped)
  10. Potatos - 2 large size(cut into halves with the sikn intact)
  11. sugar -a pinch
  12. Whole spices mix (1 black cardamon+ 1green cardamom+ 2 cloves/laung) crushed in mortar and pestle
  13. Bay leaf - 2
  14. Mustard oil- 4tbspn
  15. salt as per taste
  16. Coriander leaves for garnishing

Instructions

  1. Take a pressure cooker, add oil into it, once it gets heated add the cut potatoes a fry it till golden brown and remove I and keep aside.
  2. Now add a pinch sugar to the oil, once it gets red in colour add the bay leaf and the crushed whole spice. Now add the chopped onions into it. Fry it till golden brown.
  3. Now add ginger garlic paste, turmeric, red chilli powder, mutton masala, coriander powder,cumin powder. Now cook it on slow flame covering the lid(without the whistle). Once the oil starts oozing out of the masala add the mutton(marinated with turmeric, chilli powder) and salt. And cook it in low flame covering the lid(without lid).
  4. You will water coming out of the masala, cook it till the water dries up completely on low flame. Now add chopped tomatoes and the potatoes. And add hot water as U require the consistency to be. I have added 2and 1/2 glass water. Now cover it with lid (with whistle). Now cook on low flame. And allow for 3 whistles on low flame and next 4 whistles on medium flame. Now turn off the flame and wait for the pressure to release itself.
  5. Once the pressure goes , open the lid add 1/tsp mix of the whole spice and garnish it with coriander leaves.
  6. Serve hot with rice, it tastes amazing.
