ABOUT pungulu RECIPE

A tasty snack recipe mainly made and eaten in Andhra Pradesh, can be made from fermented idli batter too.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. 1/4 cup urad dal
  2. 3/4 cup rice
  3. 2-3 green chillies
  4. 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  5. 1 onion
  6. salt, to taste
  7. oil, for frying

Instructions

  1. Soak the rice and dal for 3-4 hrs.
  2. Take the dal in a blender and blend it well, take it out in a bowl.
  3. Take rice in the same blender and blend it well too.
  4. Add the rice mix to the dal and add chopped onions and green chillies.
  5. Add salt and cumin seeds.
  6. Heat oil in a wok and make small balls from the mix and fry them on medium flame till brown.
  7. Serve hot with your favourite sauce or chutney.
