ABOUT Aaloo Paratha Pizza.. RECIPE

A popular Indian flat bread that is loved by one and all. It is now given a twist by me turning it to a pizza eventually. This is my innovative take on the well known flat bread from the Indian Sub Continent. Simple and easy. Just make the parathas in your style and finish it up with the favourite toppings and cheese. That's it. As simple as that. Nothing more, nothing less.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. FOR THE PARATHA DOUGH ; Wheat flour 2 cups
  2. Salt 1 tsp
  3. Oil 1 tbsp
  4. Water 1 cup
  5. FOR THE AALOO STUFFING ; Potatoes boiled and mashed 4
  6. Salt 1 tsp
  7. Red chilli powder 1 tsp
  8. Green chillies chopped 2
  9. Asafoetida 1/8th tsp
  10. Cumin seeds 1 tsp
  11. Ginger grated 1 tbsp
  12. Onions thinly sliced 1
  13. Coriander leaves chopped 1/4th cup
  14. Oil or ghee for shallow frying 1/2 cup
  15. FOR THE TOPPINGS ; Capsicum thinly sliced 1
  16. Onion thinly sliced 1
  17. Tomatoes thinly sliced 2
  18. Mozzarella cheese 2 cups
  19. Red chilli flakes 1 tbsp
  20. Pizza sauce 1/2

Instructions

  1. Knead a smooth dough out of all the ingredients mentioned under it.
  2. Cover and keep aside for 15 minutes.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, add all the ingredients mentioned under aaloo stuffing.
  4. Mix them well.
  5. Divide the dough into equal sized balls.
  6. Roll into small discs.
  7. Place about 2-3 tablespoons full of stuffing on each.
  8. Cover with yet another disc and press towards the edges and roll again into a big paratha.
  9. Alternatively one can just pat around with your palms rotating it all the while.
  10. Roast on a hot griddle or a tawa.
  11. Smear oil or ghee on each.
  12. After done, apply pizza sauce or any sauce of choice.
  13. Finish it off with the favourite toppings and cheese.
  14. Sprinkle red chilli flakes on top.
  15. Cover and cook just until the cheese melts.
  16. Serve it hot immediately.
