ABOUT Batata vada RECIPE

potatoes cooked in masala and coated in besan , and then deep fried. A perfect snack or starter for all occasions.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. potatoes 4 big
  2. onion 1 chopped
  3. ginger garlic paste 1 tsp
  4. turmeric powder 1 tsp
  5. salt
  6. besan 1 cup
  7. green chilli 3-4
  8. soda 1/4 tsp
  9. oil for frying

Instructions

  1. first boil and mash potatoes
  2. in a pan heat 1 tbsp oil and saute onion..
  3. add ginger garlic paste,turmeric powder
  4. now add the mashed potatoes and green chilli
  5. mix coriander leaves and salt and saute well
  6. for the batter, you will need besan, baking soda and a tablespoon of oil ,and mix water to make a smooth paste
  7. make small balls of the potatoes and dip them in the besan mix and deep fry it till golden brown
  8. serve hot with coriander chutney or tomato sauce
