ABOUT Grilled Tandoori Chicken.. RECIPE

Chicken tandoori is prepared by marinating it in yogurt and some selected spices overnight and then grilled in a tandoor or an oven for that perfect roasting. Give it a smoky effect with a piece of charcoal. Happy Grilling !!!!!!!

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Chicken drumsticks and thighs 12 to 14
  2. Ginger piece 7cm
  3. Garlic cloves chopped 4
  4. Fresh red chillies 2
  5. Salt 1 tbsp
  6. Lemon 1
  7. Paprika 1 tbsp
  8. Ground cumin 1 tbsp
  9. Ground coriander 1 tbsp
  10. ground cinnamon 1 tsp
  11. Tandoori masala 2 tbsp
  12. Garam masala 1 tsp
  13. Yogurt 200 gm
  14. Red food colour 1/8th tsp
  15. Coriander leaves chopped 1/4th cup

Instructions

  1. Peel the garlic cloves and deseed the chillies.
  2. Bash them in a mortar and pestle with a pinch of salt.
  3. Grate the ginger finely and add all the rest of the ingredients in a mixing bowl.
  4. Now add the chicken pieces and mix everything well.
  5. Now keep this in the refrigerator overnight.
  6. When ready to roast, remove and let it come down to room temperature first.
  7. Roast this in a gas tandoor or a preheated oven on 240° .
  8. Place the chicken pieces on a parchment paper lined baking tray or in a gas tandoor.
  9. Drizzle a generous amount of oil to cover them all.
  10. Roast them for about 50 to 60 minutes until done.
  11. Keep turning them in between once or twice for even roasting.
  12. Sprinkle some garam massla on top and finely chopped coriander leaves along with a little drizzle of oil.
  13. Shake it a little sideways and that looks perfectly done and charred.
  14. Before serving, place a piece of hot coal in the centre and pour some oil on it. Cover and give the smoky effect to the chicken for that authentic touch.
  15. Serve hot with rice and salad.
