ABOUT Chilly idli RECIPE

A variation of idli cooked in a chinese cuisine.. yummy, soft, delicious!

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Suji idli cooked 8 pcs
  2. Maida 4tsp
  3. Corn flour 2tsp
  4. Capsicum 1 medium
  5. Onion 1
  6. Green chilly 2
  7. Tomato sauce 1 tbsp+1 tbsp
  8. Black pepper pwd 1 tsp
  9. Soy sauce 1tsp+1tsp
  10. Ginger chopped 1 tsp
  11. Garlic paste 1/2tsp
  12. garlic chopped 1/2 tsp
  13. Salt to taste
  14. Coriander leaves to garnish
  15. Oil to cook and to fry.

Instructions

  1. Make a thick batter of maida , corn flour, 1 tbsp tomato sauce, 1 tsp soy sauce, garlic paste, black pepper pwd, salt to taste and keep it aside.
  2. Cut idlis in 4 equal pcs... I.e 1:4, now heat oil in a wok and coat all the pcs of idli in the batter and deep fry idli pcs. (Exactly we do for paneer chilly)
  3. Keep all the fried idli pcs aside.
  4. Take the same wok, with 2 tbsp oil, add chopped garlic and ginger. Then add onion, capsicum. Stir fry on a medium flame.
  5. Now add tomato sauce, soy sauCe, green chillies , salt to taste, fried idli pcs,
  6. Stir gently and let it cook for 2-3 mins on a medium flame.
  7. Chilly idli is ready to serve, just garnish with coriander leaves :blush:
