ABOUT Chilly Garlic Idli RECIPE

South India is famous for its beauty and for its light fluffy and healthy food. For me idli is my all time favourite food that is easy to make and is healthy and digestive. I love to make something special with leftover food. Here I present idli with chilly garlic version.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Leftover idli 10-12 chopped
  2. Onions chopped in cubes - 2
  3. Capsicum cut in cubes - 1
  4. Ginger garlic chilly chopped finally - 1tsp
  5. Green onion chopped - 1 tbsp
  6. Sauces:
  7. soya sauce - 1 tbsp
  8. Chilly sauce red and green both - 1 tsp each
  9. ketchup - 1 tbsp
  10. Vinegar to taste
  11. Chilly flakes to taste
  12. Black pepper powder - 1 tsp
  13. Salt to taste
  14. oil 2 tbsp
  15. Oil for frying
  16. Corn flour for dusting idli - as required
  17. Corn flour - 1 tsp + 2 tbsp water for thickening sauce

Instructions

  1. First dust idli softly and season with chilly flakes.
  2. Fry it till golden brown and keep aside.
  3. Heat a pan, add two tbsp oil, add ginger, chilly and garlic and and white part of green onions saute it.
  4. Add onions and chopped capsicum.
  5. Saute it for 2 minutes.
  6. Add all Sauces and spices as per taste.
  7. Add fried idli and mix it well.
  8. Cook it for another 2-3 minutes, if it seems dry then add little water.
  9. Turn off the gas, garnish it with slit chilly and green onions. And chopped coriander and serve hot.
