ABOUT Shahi Matar Paneer RECIPE

Matar paneer is the most popular recipe made with matar. Most of us making Matar Paneer with fresh green peas and fresh paneer. Here we are giving Royal twist to this traditional matar paneer recipe .Matar paneer cooked in rich cashew nut gravy and this provide a royal touch to this matar paneer.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 250 gram Paneer, cubed
  2. 1 cup boiled peas
  3. 2 tablespoon oil
  4. 20 Cashew nuts
  5. 4 tablespoon ghee
  6. 3-4 cloves
  7. 2 black cardamom
  8. 3 Green cardamom
  9. 4 Black peppercorn
  10. 1 cup onion chopped
  11. 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
  12. 1 cup tomato grated
  13. 2 tablespoon Coriander powder
  14. 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  15. 1 teaspoon Red chili powder
  16. 1 teaspoon garam masala
  17. Salt to taste
  18. 3 tablespoon fresh cream
  19. 8 strand saffron soaked in 2 tablespoon milk
  20. 1 tablespoon honey
  21. 1 teaspoon cardamom powder
  22. 4 drops Kewra essence
  23. 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  24. 4 tbsp coriander leaves chopped

Instructions

  1. Soak cashews in warm water for 30 minutes. Grease a grill pan and grill paneer from all sides until golden brown
  2. Heat oil with 2 tbsp ghee in a pan
  3. Add Clove, black cardamom ,green cardamom , peppercorn and saute for 2 minutes over low heat
  4. Add onions and saute until light brown
  5. Add ginger garlic paste , saute until raw aroma disappears. Add grated tomatoes and saute for 3 minutes
  6. Allow mixture to cool. Grind the mixture with soaked cashew nuts to smooth paste
  7. Heat 2 tbsp ghee in same pan and add ground paste. Mix well. Add coriander powder, red chili powder, turmeric powder, Garam Masala and salt . Mix well. Add 1/2 cup water and saute for 5 minutes
  8. Now add Paneer and peas and mix. Cook for 5 to 6 minutes
  9. Add little water ,fresh cream ,Saffron milk, cardamom powder , lemon juice and cook for 2-3 minutes. Switch off
  10. Add kewra essence and mix well. Garnish with coriander leaves
  11. Serve hot with Naan, paratha, Puri or plain rice
