Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Idli batter -2cups
  2. Grated Beetroot- 1/2 cup
  3. Chopped Onion - 1/4cup
  4. Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan, add onion and beetroot. Saute well 3 or 4 minutes, switch off . Allow it cool completely
  2. Boil water in Idli vessel. Grease idli mold. First pour half ladle batter, add beetroot masala, again pour the batter.
  3. Steam for 7 or 8 minutes on medium heat or until done. Insert tooth pick, it should not be sticky. Serve idlis warm with chutney, and sambar
