mohanthal is Gujarati sweet dish. very popular in Gujarat. this sweet is my personal favourite.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Besan 2 cups
  2. Ghee 1 1/2 tablespoon
  3. Milk 4 tablespoons
  4. Ghee 3/4 cup
  5. Sugar 1 1/2 cup
  6. Green cardamom powder 1/4 teaspoon
  7. Almonds 10 blanched and sliced
  8. Pistachio 10 blanched and sliced

Instructions

  1. Heat 2 tablespoon mil in a pan add 1 1/2 teaspoon ghee, cook till it melts.
  2. Take besan in a bowl add this milk -ghee mix and mix with finger tips till it looks like breadcrumbs.
  3. Pass through thick sieve, remove lumps by pressing a little.
  4. Cook 1/2 cup water and 1 1/2 cup sugar to make 1 1/2 string syrup.
  5. Heat 3/4 cup ghee in a non stick pan. Roast besan till it change colour and fragrant.
  6. Add cardamom powder in it. keep aside to cool completely.
  7. In sugar syrup add 2 teaspoon milk and pour the syrup in besan.
  8. Mix well. Grease a plate or aluminium cake tin. Spread the besan mixture in plate press gently. Spread almonds and pistachios on it. keep aside to cool completely. Cut spquare pieces. serve.
