ABOUT Blanc Mange RECIPE

Blanc mange is a famous european pudding . It is also called as cramma in Italy. It is usually made either with corn flour or gelatin or Irish moss.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Whole milk-1 litre
  2. Sugar-1 cup
  3. Blanched almonds powder- 1 cup
  4. Corn flour-1/4 cup
  5. Cinnaman powder- 1 pinch
  6. Vanilla essense- 1/4 teaspoon

Instructions

  1. Arrange almonds in a baking tray and bake for 10 min at 200 degree centigrade
  2. Remove from oven and peel the outer skin of almonds and make it a fine powder.
  3. In a heavy sauce pan, add milk and bring it to a boil.
  4. Now add sugar, almond powder, cinnamon powder and stir.
  5. To the corn flour cup, add little water and make it a thick paste.
  6. Now , to the boiling milk, add corn flour paste slowly by stiring the milk.
  7. Keep stirring till it gets a thick consistency and switch off the stove. Add vanilla essence and stir once and transfer to desired mould.
  8. Leave it undisturbed for 4 hours and then chill it in refrigrator.
  9. Just before serving, invert it onto serving plate and garnish with chocholate balls( malteaser) or sliced almonds.
