A wonderful delicacy from Bengal.

Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. Squash flowers - 10
  2. 2 tbsp Besan (bengal gram flour)
  3. Salt to taste
  4. 1 tsp red chilli powder
  5. 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  6. 4 tbsp water
  7. Oil to fry

Instructions

  1. Clean the squash flowers. Remove the stalk and the stigma. Keep aside.
  2. Now make a batter with the besan, salt, turmeric, chilli powder and water. It should be smooth batter and not very thick.
  3. Dip each flower into the batter and deep fry them in hot oil.
  4. Enjoy these tasty squash flower fritters with tomato ketchup or as a side dish with rice.
