This recipe is a combination of Halwa and kheer. Pour blended rice kheer on bottle gourd Halwa taste becomes so unique and so delicious.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. For kheer
  2. Full cream milk 5 cup
  3. Rice 1/4 cup
  4. Sugar 1/2 cup
  5. Raisins 10-12
  6. Almond 10-12
  7. For halwa
  8. Grated lauki - 1 cup
  9. Full fat milk - 2 cups
  10. Ghee - 1 tablespoon
  11. Sugar - 1/3 cup
  12. Mawa (Khoya) - 1/2 cup
  13. Cashew nut chopped -10
  14. Almond chopped - 10
  15. Raisins - 15

Instructions

  1. For kheer, Boil the rice and milk in a deep pan. 
  2. Simmer over low flame, stirring occasionally till the rice is cooked and the milk becomes thick. 
  3. When done add sugar, raisins and Almond. Stir till sugar gets dissolved properly. 
  4. Transfer it into a plate and left for chilled.
  5. For Halwa - To grate the bottle gourd, first peel it and then wash it in running water. After that, grate it from all sides and discard centre part having seeds. Squeeze out water from grated bottle gourd completely.
  6. Heat ghee in a pan over medium flame. Add grated bottle gourd
  7. Saute it for 3-4 minutes, stirring continuously
  8. Add milk and mix well and mixture to a boil.
  9. When it starts boiling, reduce flame to low and cook it until almost milk is absorbed. Stirring occasionally.
  10. Add the sugar, mix well and cook till it reduces. Add the mawa and mix well
  11. Stir continuously and cook untill almost moisture is evaporated and mixture turn thick.
  12. Turn off the flame and mix cashew nuts, almond and raisins.
  13. Now take any cookie cutter mold and set the Halwa in it.
  14. On other side take rice kheer and blend it. It becomes a creamy shape.
  15. Now demold the Halwa and pour it blended kheer on it.
  16. And decorate with dry fruits.
  17. Your amazing bottle gourd Halwa and rice kheer is ready to serve.
