ABOUT Brinjal palya RECIPE

According to Ayurveda , brinjal is healthy vegetable,some say it is allergic and cusses itching,but i just love this vegitable.There are many types of brinjals.Yennegay,palya/ sabzi,sambar,bajji,& many foods can be prepared. Here I'll show you guys a uttar karnataka style palya.Used as sabzi to chapathies,roties,phulka and dose.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Brinjals.....8-10
  2. Tamarind paste......1 spoon
  3. salt......
  4. chilly powder...1/4 spoon
  5. Turmeric...4 pinch
  6. pepper powder....1/4 or 1/2 spoon
  7. Jeeera powder.....1/2 spoon
  8. Coriander powder....1/2 spoon
  9. Garam masala...1/4 spoon
  10. Jaggery.....1 small piece(option)
  11. Peanut.....3 spoon
  12. Dry coconut...2spoon
  13. Mustard...1/4 spoon
  14. Urad dal.....1/2 spoon
  15. Channa dal......1/2 spoon
  16. Curry leaves...10 leaves
  17. Coconut oil...2 spoon
  18. Dry red chilly....2

Instructions

  1. chop Brinjal and place them in water
  2. Temper oil,mustard,urad dal, channa dal,dry red chilly & curry leaves in a kadai.
  3. Now add chopped Brinjal into it and fry it.
  4. Add little water,tamarind,salt and cook them.
  5. Later add chilly powder,turmeric powder,coriander powder,jeera powder,pepper powder,jaggery & garam masala and cook.
  6. Dry roast peanuts and dry coconut separately and powder them separately. Now add them to the palya and mix them well.
