ABOUT Thekua RECIPE

This is a typical Biihari sweet dish, made during the festivities. Follow this easy recipe to make this at home.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Whole wheat flour- 500 gm
  2. Jaggery- 250 gm
  3. Oil for moin- 1/2 cup
  4. Greated coconut- 1/2 cup
  5. Cardamom Powder- 1 tsp
  6. Some dry fruits
  7. Ghee for deep frying- 2 cup

Instructions

  1. Add jaggery in hot water and dissolve. Let it cool
  2. Take flour in a bowl. Add coconut. Cardamom powder. Chopped dry fruits and add Oil for moin. Mix nicely.
  3. Add jaggary water and knead in a stiff dough. Rest for 5 minutes.
  4. Divide dough in 10 portion
  5. Take one portion and with the help of your palm give it long shape and press gently with your hand. If you dont have mould than make use of folk for making thekua.
  6. After making thekua fry them on medium flame. Fry until they turn brown. Take them out in a plate.
  7. Let them cool and store in a air tight container.
