Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. For gatta dough
  2. 2 cups gram flour
  3. 1 cup grated bottle gourd
  4. 2-3 green chillies cut into small pieces
  5. 1/2 tsp ginger paste
  6. 1 tsp red chilly powder
  7. 1 tsp turmeric powder
  8. 1 tsp cumin seeds
  9. 1 tsp Asafoetida
  10. 1 tbsp oil
  11. Salt to taste
  12. Other Ingredients for stir fry
  13. 2 onions cut into thin pieces
  14. 2-3 green chillies cut into slits
  15. 1 tsp crushed garlic
  16. 1 tsp red chilly powder
  17. 1 tsp mustard seeds
  18. 1 tsp cumin seeds
  19. 2 tbsp Oil
  20. 1 tsp garam masala
  21. Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl add gram flour , oil , ginger chilly and all dry spices into it
  2. Now squeeze the bottle gourd and add into it and make a dough
  3. Dough is ready.
  4. Grease the dough with oil and make cylindrical gattas out of it
  5. In a wok add water and bring it to a boil and then boil the gattas
  6. Take out the gattas and cut into pieces
  7. In another wok heat oil , add mustard seeds and cumin seeds to splutter
  8. Then add green chillies , garlic and onions and saute for 2 minutes
  9. Add gattas and all dry spices and mix properly
  10. Serve hot with tomato sauce and any chutney of your choice
