ABOUT Chilly fish RECIPE

This is an amazing and easy starter for any party occasion. This is made with basa fish fillet, but any boneless fish can be used for the same.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. For the marination :
  2. Boneless fish (basa) fillet - 200 gm
  3. Garlic paste - 1 tsp
  4. Ginger paste - 1/2 tsp
  5. Egg whites - 1
  6. Cornflour - 2 tbsp
  7. Maida - 3 tbsp
  8. Soy sauce - 2 tsp
  9. Salt
  10. Refined oil (for frying)
  11. For the tempering :
  12. Chopped garlic - 2 tsp
  13. Chopped green chillies (dipped in vinegar) - 2 tbsp
  14. Soy sauce - 1 tbsp
  15. Ajinamoto (optional) - 1/2 tsp
  16. Cornflour - 1 tbsp
  17. Salt
  18. Refined oil

Instructions

  1. Cut the fish fillet into pieces.
  2. Whisk the egg white, mix rest of the ingredients mentioned under "marination".
  3. Add the fish pieces into the marinade and leave it for 30 minutes.
  4. Deep fry the marinated fish pieces in hot oil and keep aside.
  5. To make the tempering, heat little oil in a wok, add the chopped garlic followed by the chopped chillies.
  6. Once they smell, add Soy sauce, 1 tsp of the vinegar in which the chillies were dipped.
  7. Then add the salt and Ajinamoto. Add little water to avoid burning of the masala.
  8. Stir it while mix the cornflour in very little water. Pour the cornflour slurry into the wok.
  9. Once the sauce thickens, add the fried pieces of fish and coat them well with the sauce. Serve.
