ABOUT Mango kalakand RECIPE

This is a traditional kalakand recipe with a twist.

Ingredients Serving: 8

  1. Mango pulp-3/4 cup
  2. Milk-1 ltr
  3. Sugar-3/4 cup
  4. Lemon juice-2 tbsp
  5. Almonds-8
  6. Pista-8
  7. cardamom powder-1/4 tsp

Instructions

  1. Take milk in a pan and boil.
  2. Put off the gas once milk boils.After 10 minutes add lemon juice gradually and stir.If required add more lemon juice till milk curdles.
  3. Drain in a strainer lined with muslin cloth.
  4. Pour cold water to wash off the sourness.
  5. Now our paneer is ready.
  6. Take a pan and add mango pulp and sugar.Mix and keep stiring on medium flame till it thickens.
  7. Add paneer which we made earlier and mix properly.
  8. Keep stiring on low flame till mixture thickens.Then add half of dryfruits.
  9. As the mixture thickens it will leave the sides of pan and form a lump.Add cardamom powder.
  10. Put the kalakand in a greased plate.Press and level it.
  11. Sprinkle dryfruits on it and press so that they stick to kalakand.
  12. Let it set for 2 to 3 hours and then cut abd serve.
