This is my mom's recipe of making dal super delicious.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. chana daal- 3/4 cup (soaked in water for 5 to 6 hours)
  2. urad daal- 3/4 cup (soaked in water for 5 to 6 hours)
  3. moong daal- 3/4 cup (soaked in water for 5 to 6 hours)
  4. tuvar daal- 3/4 cup (soaked in water for 5 to 6 hours)
  5. salt- to taste
  6. onions- 1 sliced
  7. tomatoes- 2 finely chopped
  8. coriander powder - 1 1/2 teaspoon
  9. cumin powder- 1 / 2 teaspoon
  10. turmeric powder- 1/2 teaspoon
  11. red chilly powder - 1 teaspoon
  12. garam masala- 1/2 teaspoon
  13. cinnamon stick- 1
  14. bay leaf- 1
  15. water- 3 glass
  16. For Tadka:
  17. onion- 1 finely chopped
  18. ghee- 1 tablespoon
  19. red chilly- 3
  20. garlic- 2 finely chopped
  21. cumin- 1 teaspoon
  22. oil- 2 tablespoon

Instructions

  1. In a pressure cooker, add all the above mentioned things and cover the lid.
  2. Give it 6 to 7 whistles or cook for 30 minutes.
  3. Open the lid and mix it very well.
  4. In a pan heat oil and ghee. Add cumin, red chilly, onions and garlic.
  5. Pour this tadka in daal and mix well.
  6. Serve daal hot with chapati or zeera rice.
