Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Lentils / Tuar /Arahar dal 1cup
  2. Ghee/Butter 2 tsp
  3. Fresh cream 1/2 cup
  4. Onion 1 large chopped
  5. Tomato 1 large chopped
  6. Garlic 5 cloves coarsely pasted
  7. Coriander leaves 1/4 cup
  8. Green chillis 2 chopped
  9. Turmeric powder 1tsp
  10. Red chilli powder 1tsp
  11. coriander powder 1tsp
  12. Salt to taste
  13. For Tadka :
  14. Butter/ghee tsp
  15. Mustard seeds 1tsp
  16. Cumin seeds 1tsp
  17. Garlic 5 cloves Coarsely minced
  18. Dry Red chilli 1

Instructions

  1. Take Tuar dal wash it and cook in a low flame till 3 whistles are attained in a pressure cooker.
  2. once cooked, let it cool down to room temperature.
  3. Heat a pan add oil, put garlic paste ,then green chillies
  4. Now add onion.. cook untill brown
  5. Now add the chopped tomatoes.
  6. Cook until tomatoes becomes soft.
  7. Now add turmeric powder, red chilli powder and coriander powder. Give it a stir and cook till the masala leaves oil.
  8. Now add the cooked dal into it.
  9. Put 1cup warm water stir it
  10. Cook in low flame till the dal boils.
  11. Now add fresh cream in it...
  12. Give a good mix
  13. Now add coriander leaves and salt
  14. Cook till the dal boils or bubbles, switch off the flame
  15. Pour the dal into a serving dish.
  16. To prepare the tadka, heat ghee in a pan, add hing after that mustard seeds then cumin seeds when crackle add garlic followed by red dry chilli
  17. When crackle stops put this tadka over the dal
  18. Cover the lid...open lid at the time of serving..
  19. Mix the dal and then serve it with some steamed rice or with some roti.
