Three milk pudding also known as Tres Leches Cake is an American based dessert. It is a sponge cake soaked in three different milks.

  1. Ingredients for Tres Leches Cake :
  2. 1 cup all-purpose flour
  3. 1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  4. 1/4 teaspoon salt
  5. 5 whole eggs
  6. 1 cup sugar divided into 3/4 and 1/4 cup
  7. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  8. 1/3 cup whole milk
  9. Syrup:
  10. 3/4 of a 12 ounces can evaporated milk
  11. 2/3 of a 14 ounces can sweetened condensed milk
  12. 1/3 cup heavy cream
  13. Frosting :
  14. 2 cups heavy whipping cream
  15. 2 tablespoon granulated sugar

Instructions

  1. Tres Leches Cake:
  2. Preheat the oven to 350 °Farenhite. Butter and flour a 9x13 pan.
  3. Set up three mixing bowls.
  4. In a large bowl, sift together flour, baking powder and salt.
  5. Separate egg whites and yolks.
  6. Beat egg yolks with ¾ cup sugar on high speed, until yolks are a pale yellow.
  7. Stir in milk and vanilla.
  8. Beat egg whites on high speed until soft peeks form.
  9. With the mixer on, pour in remaining ¼ cup sugar and beat on high speed until egg whites are stiff but not dry (1 minute).
  10. Pour egg yolk mixture over the flour mixture and combine with mixer on low speed.
  11. Gently fold in egg white mixture until just combined.
  12. Pour batter into prepared pan and spread to even out the surface and bake 30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  13. Turn the cake out and allow to cool to room temperature.
  14. Syrup:
  15. Combine condensed milk, evaporated milk and heavy cream in a bowl.
  16. When the cake is cool, pierce the surface all over with a fork.
  17. Slowly drizzle the milk mixture over the cake.
  18. Let the cake absorb the milk mixture for at least 30- 60 minutes.
  19. Frosting :
  20. Make sure your whipping cream is very cold.
  21. On high speed, whip heavy cream with 2 tablespoon of sugar until thick and spreadable.
  22. Spread over the surface of the cake with a spatula.
  23. Slice and serve.
  24. Enjoy the delicious treat.
