ABOUT CHICKEN MANCHURIAN IN GARLIC SAUCE (Restaurant Style) RECIPE

This is one of the most popular dish in the Chinese cuisine. Marinated chicken pieces are deep fried and cooked with sauces. You can add some veggies of your choice to it. The authentic version is not spicy but you can adjust it to suit your taste buds. It can be served with plain or fried rice.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Boneless Chicken .... 250gms.
  2. Egg ................. 1
  3. Baby corn .... 2-3
  4. Mushrooms .... 2-3
  5. Ajinomoto .....a pinch (optional)
  6. Soy sauce ..... 1 tbsp.
  7. Corn flour .... 1 tbsp
  8. Garlic paste .... 2tbsp
  9. Salt .... to taste.
  10. Green chilli paste .... 2 tbsps.
  11. Black/White pepper ...1 tsp.
  12. Oil to fry.
  13. (For the Garlic sauce)
  14. Garlic paste .... 2 tbsps.
  15. Water ...... 2 cups.
  16. Corn flour .... 1tbsp. made into a slurry
  17. Salt .... to taste
  18. Green chilli paste .... 1 tsp.
  19. Black pepper ........... 1 tsp.
  20. Ajinomoto ...... a pinch (optional)
  21. Ajinomoto ...... a pinch

Instructions

  1. Mix the chilli paste, soya sauce, garlic paste, corn flour and egg with the chicken and marinate for 6-8 hrs.
  2. Drain the excess liquid from the marinade and deep fry the chicken pieces
  3. Take a wok and heat 1 tbsp. oil. Add the garlic paste. Stir fry a little and add the water immediately (before the garlic becomes red)
  4. When the sauce boils add the chicken pieces and simmer. Now add the desired vegetables and the ajinomoto, salt, chilli paste, black/white pepper and a drop of soy sauce.
  5. Finally stir in the slurry to make a thick gravy....Serve hot with fried rice, plain rice or noodles.
