Rasam is south Indian dish, very good for digestion. It is spicy and soothing to the taste buds especially during cold and fever.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Toor Dal – 100 gram
  2. Lemon – 2 nos
  3. Asofeotida – 2 pinches
  4. Turmeric powder – ½ tspn
  5. Rasam pwd – 1 tspn
  6. Tomato – 1 no
  7. Coriander leaves – few
  8. Green chilli – 1 no
  9. For tempering:
  10. Ghee – 1 tspn
  11. Mustard seeds – ½ tspn
  12. Mustard seeds – ½ tspn
  13. Garlic – 2 pod

Instructions

  1. Wash the dal. In a pressure cooker add the dal , 2 cup of water, turmeric pwd ½ tspn rasam pwd, tomato , asfoetida close the lid and leave till 3 to 4 whistles are attained.
  2. After pressure releases, mashes the dal well.
  3. In a wok add ghee temper with mustard, garlic, curry leaves and pour it into cooked rasam and squeeze out two lemons.
  4. Garnishing with coriander leaves and curry leaves.
