ABOUT Chilled Mango Sago Pomelo Soup RECIPE

This was the name given to the recepie in the menu at Market place Bristo restaurant at Macau. I ordered one and it was so tasty that I ordered one more and called Chef to ask what special he has added in the recepie. And to my surprise the recepie was very simple. Do try this delicious dessert.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Chilled Mango juice of 2 mangoes. ( I have used one Alphanso and one Kesar mango.)
  2. Peeled pomelo - 1/2
  3. Pearl Sago - 4 tsp
  4. Water - 250 ml
  5. Condensed milk tin - 1 / homemade 1 cup
  6. Sugar- 6 tbsp if making condensed milk at home
  7. Vanilla extract - 1 tsp

Instructions

  1. Make condensed milk of 500 ml milk by adding sugar to boiling milk. You have to reduce the milk to 200 ml. It will take 8 to 10 minutes. Cool it under the fan.
  2. Boil Sago in water. As we are using pearl sago it will be cooked fast. You need to stir at short intervals. Cool under the fan.
  3. Blend mango juice, pomelo and condensed milk. The proportion is 2 cups mango Pomelo juice, 2 cups condensed milk,.
  4. Add Vannilla extract. Add sago and mix well. Sago should be 2 tbsp / cup.
  5. Your mango sago soup is ready.
