ABOUT Makhane Ka Raita RECIPE

This is a curd raita made with makhane or lotus seed which is rich in minerals, calcium and nutrients. It is a simple yet innovative recipe and the perfect accompaniment for your lunch and dinner recipes.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 2 Cups Curd or Yogurt
  2. 1 Cup Makhana or Lotus seed
  3. 1tsp Ghee
  4. 20 Mint Leaves
  5. 1tsp Chaat Masala
  6. 1tsp Sugar
  7. 1tsp Cumin Powder
  8. 1tsp Red chilli powder
  9. Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat the pan with ghee and on a low flame dry roast the makhana till they become crunchy and crisp. stir at intervals while roasting. Take them in a plate and allow it to cool. Then coarsely crush them with a rolling pin in a ziplock bag or in a mixer.
  2. whisk chilled curd in a bowl.
  3. Spice it up with chaat masala, red chilli powder, cumin powder, salt and sugar.
  4. Add finely chopped mint leaves and makhane to it. Mix well.
  5. Serve cold with lunch or dinner.
