Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Roasted rice flour - 1 cup
  2. Grated Coconut- 1/3 cup
  3. Jaggery -1/2 cup
  4. Cardamom powder - 1 tsp
  5. Banana (Nendra Pazham) - 2 medium sized
  6. Salt - a Pinch
  7. Fresh Bay leaves - 4
  8. Toothpicks- 4

Instructions

  1. First,melt your jaggery with some water.Then strain it to remove its impurities and keep it aside.
  2. Then,place your bananas in the steamer for 20 minutes
  3. Next, into a mixing bowl, add rice flour, salt,cardamom powder,grated coconut and the jaggery syrup.Mash and peel the bananas and add it to this mixture.
  4. Knead it into a smooth and soft chapati like dough.
  5. Cover it and let it rest for 30 minutes.
  6. Meanwhile, take the bay leaves and roll it into a cone.Fix it with a toothpick.
  7. After the dough has rested enough,fill the leaves with the dough and place it in the steamer for approximately 20-30 minutes.
  8. Once done,take it out and let it cool for 5 minutes.
  9. Then you are ready to serve.
