ABOUT Tandoori Chicken (Gas Top) RECIPE

Soft, juicy and tender Tandoori Chicken made in a pan over gas top and given a smoky flavor using the dhungar method. We can easily make it at home without tandoor and enjoy the the world famous chicken starter Tandoori Chicken.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Chicken Legs - 2 whole legs cut into four pieces
  2. Butter - 2 tbsp
  3. First Marination -
  4. Kashmiri red chilly powder - ½ tsp
  5. Turmeric powder - ¼ tsp
  6. Lemon juice - 1 tsp
  7. Salt to taste
  8. Second marination -
  9. Ginger garlic paste - 2 tsp
  10. Oil - 1 tbsp
  11. Curd - 2 tbsp
  12. Kashmiri Red Chilly powder - 2 tsp
  13. Pepper powder - ½ tsp
  14. Coriander powder - 1 tsp
  15. Garam Masala Powder - 1 tsp
  16. Amchur powder - ½ tsp
  17. Kasuri methi - ½ tsp crushed
  18. Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Take the chicken leg and make 2-3 slashes on both the sides. Pat dry the chicken with a kitchen towel. Marinate the chicken with the first marination ingredients for about half an hour.
  2. Then add the second marination ingredients.
  3. Mix well and rub the marinade coating the chicken nicely including the slashes. Marinate them for sometime, the longer the better. I Kept for 2 hours.
  4. Heat the pan with the butter. Now lay the marinated chicken and roast them in low-medium heat.
  5. Turn over every 5 mins for even cooking and to prevent from burning it.
  6. If there is any left over marinade rub them in the chicken in between the cooking.
  7. It will take approx 15-20 mins for the chicken to get it done.
  8. Now to give a smoky flavor to the chicken, heat the charcoal and add it in the pan or add it to a small bowl and put it in the pan, pour few drops of oil over the heated charcoal.
  9. Immediately cover the pan and keep for 2-3 mins.
  10. Remove and serve with squeeze of lemon juice and any salad or chutney of your choice.
