ABOUT Thalipeeth - A Maharastrian Bread RECIPE

It is a spiced mix flour Maharashtrian bread mostly served with pithal.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Wheat flour 1 cup
  2. Gram flour 1/4 cup
  3. Yellow corn flour /makke ka ata 4 tbsp
  4. Jwar flour 1/2 cup
  5. Rice flour1/4 cup
  6. Fenugreek leaves 1/2 cup finely chopped
  7. Coriander leaves 1/2 cup
  8. Green chilli 2 finely chopped
  9. Onion 1 finely chopped
  10. Salt to taste
  11. Red chilli powder 1tsp
  12. Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
  13. Oil 3 tbsp for adding to the flour
  14. Oil for brushing as needed
  15. Water as needed

Instructions

  1. Mix all the flours in a vessel
  2. Add fenugreek leaves coriender leaves onion green chilli
  3. Add oil salt red chilli powder turmeric powder to the flours mix well
  4. Add water and make a normal dough
  5. Take some portion of dough make a medium sized ball
  6. Roll it with the help of your hands and cook it on hot tava on medium flame
  7. While cooking apply oil on the both the sides of bread
  8. Cook till crisp in r Texture serve with pithal or any kind of curry or chutney
